When Count von Schwerin commissioned the Heinitzburg for his fiancé in 1914, love was the inspiration. The hotel offers everything body and soul could possibly desire. In addition to spectacular views across the city, the hotel’s restaurant also boasts superb cuisine.

Featuring the best-stocked wine cellar in the whole of Namibia, the Hotel Heinitzburg is successfully run by the Raith family. Guests can dine al fresco on the terrace, in the elegantly appointed Leo restaurant and, on special occasions, even in the wine cellar.

Its sixteen stylishly furnished rooms are individually decorated and often re-decorated by the lady of the house – be prepared for a surprise! Each room is equipped with air conditioning, a telephone, safe, minibar and TV. The hotel’s deluxe rooms are further equipped with a shower cubicle, and the more expensive superior deluxe rooms with a bathtub.  

The garden offers a beautiful swimming pool (heated in winter) surrounded by plenty of loungers.

The Hotel Heinitzburg is, as one would expect, situated on Heinitzburg Street. The access road is steep and perfectly in keeping with the location of a castle. The hotel’s position affords fantastic views over the city.

The international airport is approximately one hour away; the local airport, Windhoek Eros, can be reached in a few minutes.
