With its luxurious leather seats, silver cutlery, candlelight, sturdy wooden floors and thick books about the Serengeti wildlife, Klein's Camp embodies the spirit of the early African explorers. The 10 stone built cottages with thatched roofs fulfil every wish a sophisticated traveller could possibly dream of. The rooms are well designed with wooden floors, private verandas and en suite bathrooms.
The central bar & dining area is large and well furnished and offers imposing views over the Kleins conservancy. There is also a swimming pool.
Guests who fly into Klein's Camp use Lobo airstrip, about a 90-minute drive from camp.
The great migration of wildebeest and zebra is certain to delight all who visit, but guests are also able to enjoy fascinating game drives outside the migration months. The area is home a good number of resident game, notably elephant, buffalo, hippo, lion, cheetah and leopard to name just a few.
Day trips to the Mara River and Bologonja area in northern Serengeti are possible, as well as visits to a local Maasai village.
Permanent Camps
Permanent camps do not change location and therefore have a better infrastructure than mobile camps.
Mobile camps operate in the Serengeti and change their location two or three times a year following the Great Migration of the wildebeest and zebra. Mobile camps have a simpler, bush-like character. Although the rooms have an en-suite bathroom, there is often no running water in the rooms. Bathrooms are then equipped with a so-called bucket shower that needs to be filled with hot water by the camp team on demand.
