Lake Manyara Tree Lodge comprises ten luxury suites, each with a private veranda, lounge, bathroom and open-air shower. The suites are raised off the ground on stilts and blend beautifully with the surrounding woodland.

The main building comprises an open-air kitchen with boma and lounge, from which guests can oversee events. An inviting swimming pool with loungers is tucked away from the main building and provides the ideal place for a cooling dip.

As beautiful as it is diverse, Lake Manyara National Park is composed for the most part of water and, covering just 330 km², relatively small.

Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is located in the southwestern part of Lake Manyara National Park and thus off the day-tripper radar. This also means visitors are unlikely to see other vehicles while out on game drives. The steep Rift Valley slopes, the densely forested hillsides and the flamingos on the lake melt to the delight of visitors into one beautiful whole.

The park is situated approximately a two hours drive from Arusha. Additionaly, a number of airlines operate scheduled flights from Arusha Airport to Lake Manyara Airstrip. The lodge is then reached by a scenic 21⁄2-hour drive through the national park, with game viewing en route. The Great Rift Valley is at its most impressive here, with the escarpment dropping some 550 metres (1 640 feet) down to the lakeshore.

The park is renowned for its good concentration of elephant and tree climbing lion. It is also home to large herds of buffalo, giraffe, hippo and antelope. The area is also home to a conspicuous number of olive baboons, which gather in groups of up to several hundred. The flamingos on the lake, of course, provide a fascinating spectacle, and with over 400 species, it is also a birding enthusiast's dream.

The lodge offers game drives in private 4x4 vehicles and private guides at extra cost. Night game drives, also at extra cost, are available and are an exception among the parks of Tanzania.
