Accommodation
Leeu House, an exclusive and private 12-room five-star destination, is located in the scenic Franschhoek valley. An oasis of comfort and luxury, Leeu House’s appeal is its country guesthouse feel on the main street of vibrant Franschhoek village, within easy strolling distance of award-winning restaurants, art galleries, boutiques and many other attractions.

The 12 individually styled rooms and suites are luxuriously appointed. Two of them open onto their own private gardens, while two others have intimate terrace courtyards, and two have private balconies. The en-suite bathrooms have marble floors, double vanity tops, free-standing baths and/or generous showers, underfloor heating and heated towel rails.

The Lounge, with views of the garden and oak trees, comfortable seating and an open wood-burning fireplace, is where guests can mingle and relax. The perfect place for afternoon tea, there’s also a complimentary bar stocked with the Estates’ house wine and selected spirits.

Innovative cuisine is prepared by the talented culinary team. Lunch and dinner menus showcase the best local organic and ethically farmed produce in creative fusion dishes with vibrant world flavours. Leisurely meals and fine South African vintages from the cellar are served inside in The Conservatory or al fresco on the terrace, seating up to 24 people.

Leeu House also showcases a number of important contemporary artworks and sculptures from various countries.

Location
The area around Cape Town is home to some of South Africa's most famous wine-producing regions, including Constantia (the oldest), Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek. In 1688, French Huguenot refugees settled in the small valley of Franschhoek, bringing their affinity to great wine and fantastic food with them.

Today, it is home to several famous wineries and some of South Africa's best restaurants. The landscape is as vibrant as the village is picturesque. The main street is lined with boutique shops, galleries, cafés and chocolatiers, and well worth an after-dinner stroll.

Activities
The vicinity offers plenty of wineries and restaurants where visitors can lunch and try the region's wines.
