La Clé des Montagnes
Franschhoek

Accommodation
Set amidst vineyards on the edge of Franschhoek, only a short walk from the heart of the village, La Clé Village and Lodge can be booked either by room or exclusively. The cuisine is dynamic and fresh, from local-style 'braais' to laden breakfast tables, personalised picnics and private dining.

Modern styling meets the classic charm of a traditional Cape Dutch home at the La Clé Lodge. Spend intimate time together at the Lodge in any of the five exquisitely comfortable en-suite bedrooms, or book it as a villa for a family and friends getaway. La Clé Lodge offers expansive views, a tennis court, putt and chip lawn and helipad.

At La Clé, individual rooms can be booked in the main building (lodge) or private villas in La Clé Village. The distance between the lodge and the individual villas is about 10 minutes walk. La Clé Village consists of four villas: Grange (3 bedrooms), Manoir (2 bedrooms), Galerie (2 bedrooms) and Domain (4 bedrooms).

Location
The area around Cape Town is home to some of South Africa's most famous wine-producing regions, including Constantia (the oldest), Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek. In 1688, French Huguenot refugees settled in the small valley of Franschhoek, bringing their affinity to great wine and fantastic food with them.

Today, it is home to several famous wineries and some of South Africa's best restaurants. The landscape is as vibrant as the village is picturesque. The main street is lined with boutique shops, galleries, cafés and chocolatiers, and well worth an after-dinner stroll.

Activities
Croquet and tennis, chip and putt lawn, walking and hiking trails, cycling. The vicinity offers plenty of wineries and restaurants where visitors can lunch and try the region's wines.
