Accommodation
Academy Street Boutique Hotel is very popular for those who value the extraordinary. Its modest size - nine rooms for a maximum of eighteen people - keeps it very personal. The different buildings date back to colonial times and each room has its own advantages.

In the Twyfeling house is the reception of the hotel with a lounge and breakfast room. At both ends of this old Cape Dutch house there is one suite each, Twyfeling A with a special large bathroom with a glass roof and Twyfeling B with a conservatory. A new room, adaptly called Twyfeling C, has been added recently.

The Uitsig is located on the first floor of a separate building and can only be reached by climbing a staircase. It features a private, sunny balcony and views of the surrounding mountains. It faces the communal swimming pool.

The historic Oortuiging Cottage has two rooms with en-suite bathroom, kitchen, lounge, dining room and a private wood burning hot tub. It is either booked as a cottage, or as Oortuiging A and B rooms. The two rooms share a small plunge pool.

The Vreugde is a cozy suite with a kitchenette and private covered porch, garden and private splash pool.

Finally, the Gelatenheid Cottage with the two suites Gelatenheid A and B. The sun-kissed suite on the upper floor is enclosed by a porch, the lower has private access to the garden. Both rooms are extremely spacious and are furnished with style and elegance. The Cottage can be booked privately or as Gelatenheid A and B. Gelatenheid offers access to a private pool with lounging space and a stylish wood burning hot tub.

Location
The area around Cape Town is home to some of South Africa's most famous wine-producing regions, including Constantia (the oldest), Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek. In 1688, French Huguenot refugees settled in the small valley of Franschhoek, bringing their affinity to great wine and fantastic food with them.

Today, it is home to several famous wineries and some of South Africa's best restaurants. The landscape is as vibrant as the village is picturesque. The main street is lined with boutique shops, galleries, cafés and chocolatiers, and well worth an after-dinner stroll.

Activities
The vicinity offers plenty of wineries and restaurants where visitors can lunch and try the region's wines.
