Singita Elela
Okavango Delta
Accommodation
Singita is expanding its footprint in southern Africa with a new lodge in Botswana’s Okavango Delta, scheduled to open late 2026.
Elela, meaning 'to flow' in Setswana, is inspired by the seasonality of the Okavango Delta. Each of its eight camps is circular in design and set on stilts, meaning you can see the landscape from every angle, and the floods shifting around you. The lodge consists of 8 individual camps, each self-contained with lounge, kitchenette, dining area, large outside decks with fire pit and private pool. The camps are designed for outmost privacy and all include a private vehicle, guide and dedicated host. The rooms are connected to the lodge’s central area via walkways.
There are 5 one-bedroom camps, 2 two-bedroom camps and 1 four-bedroom camp. The two-bedroom camps consist of two en-suite bedrooms of the same size and feature a closable screen for privacy. The four-bedroom camp is a short drive from the heart of the lodge and features two equally sized bedrooms on each side of the villa. It also comes with a private chef.
Location
Singita Elela is situated in a private concession of 180,000 hectares (NG26, Abu Concession) in the western part of the Okavango Delta, bordering the floodplains of the Jao Reserve to the north. NG26 is one of the most beautiful areas in the Okavango Delta, with seasonal floodplains dotted with palm tree islands and meandering waterways connecting these islands during the flood.
Singita Elela is only accessible by light aircraft or helicopter. Elela's airstrip is located approximately 15 minutes from camp. Flight time from Maun is approximately 30 minutes and to Kasane approximately 1hr 30 minutes.
Wildlife
The diverse habitats across the concession support a great range of wildlife, including several species of antelope, giraffe, buffalo, predators such as lion, leopard and hyena and of course elephant. Hippo love to bask in the hippo pools which they share with good sized crocodiles.
Activities
Discover the pure and unadulterated wilderness of Elela in your private 4x4 vehicle, on a bush walk or on water in a traditional mokoro (seasonal). Motorboat and fishing trips are also part of the range of activities on offer, as well as wine tasting, stargazing, yoga and wellness treatments.
Because the camp is located in a private concession, night driving with a searchlight and off-road driving for special animal observation is allowed. Close-up shots are guaranteed.
