The charming Chitabe Camp offers eight comfortable tents on elevated platforms with en-suite bathroom, veranda and extra outdoor shower. The rooms are connected to the main building by elegantly curved walkways.

The main building consists of two elongated houses with a curio shop and bar on one side and the lounge/library and dining room on the other side. A large deck with a fireplace in front connects the two units. Behind the main building, an inviting swimming pool and relaxation area provide the perfect spot for the afternoon hours.

Chitabe is situated on the south-east edge of the Okavango Delta, about twenty minutes flying distance from Maun. This should not lead one to believe, however, that the game region surrounding Chitabe is not one of the finest in the whole delta. Open grasslands alternate with lush forests and narrow waterways to form a mosaic of different habitats that attracts a large variety of animal species.

Chitabe Camp is only accessible by light aircraft. The camp is located approx. 40 minutes drive from Chitabe Airstrip. Flight time to Maun in a Cessna Caravan is 20 minutes, and 1 hour 40 minutes to Kasane.

Chitabe Camp is part of the private Chitabe Concession (280 km²). There are two camps in this reserve: Chitabe Lediba Camp and Chitabe Camp. Both camps belong together and are approximately five minutes walking distance apart.

Leopards are encountered here on a regular basis and the area is renowned for big cat viewing. However, Chitabe has more to offer, including elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, plenty of impala and many different species of antelope.

A pack of very rare wild dog also lives in the Chitabe region. It is also one of the few places in the Okavango Delta where Cheetah are regularly sighted.

Game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, night drives. No water activities.

Because the camp is located in a private concession, night driving with a searchlight and off-road driving for special animal observation is allowed. Close-up shots are guaranteed.
