Waterside at Royal Malewane is a modern luxury safari lodge that occupies a beautiful spot on the shore of a lagoon in Thornybush Reserve that is part of the Greater Kruger Area.

Waterside sleeps 24 guests across two Aloe Rooms, four Luxury Suites, the two-bedroom Baobab Suite and the Waterside House, an exclusive four-bedroom villa. All suites enjoy direct access to Waterside’s reception, boutique, dining areas, library, spa, fitness center and yoga room via illuminated pathways.

Waterside’s four extra large Luxury Suites (100m²) exude an effortless elegance. Jewel-toned oriental rugs cloak the floors, thatch peeks out between ceiling beams, private plunge pools beckon on expansive decks with views over the bush.

There are two smaller en-suite Aloe Rooms (41m²) with private deck & plunge pool and the two-bedroom Baobab Suite (60m² per room) with en-suite bathrooms, central lounge and private deck with plunge pool.

Royal Malewane is situated in a 13,000 hectare private concession west of the Kruger National Park (Greater Kruger) within the Thornybush Reserve. In 2017 the fence between Thornybush and Timbavati was removed so animals move freely between the two reserves.

The lodge is located approximately 35 minutes from Hoedspruit Airport, which offers direct flights to Johannesburg and Capetown.

With elephant, lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo, giraffe and much, much more, the Greater Kruger Area offers excellent game viewing possibilities. Guests get to discover the area and track animals together with highly qualified guides.

The lodge offers day and night game drives and individual bushwalking tours.
