Monwana Lodge overlooks an active waterhole where a stream of wildlife coming to drink can be observed from the comfort of your chair. There are expansive views onto a seasonal riverbed, that even when dry, lends itself to regular animal activity.

Designed as a space to socialise, there is a lounge, dining area, bar, wine cellar for wine tastings, a boutique store, a large wraparound deck, a spa, fitness centre and a lap pool. Mowana offers six spacious suites - four suites that can cater for two adults and two family suites with a 2nd en-suite bedroom that can comfortably accommodate two adults and up to three children.

All Suites have their own private shaded deck, a heated plunge pool and outdoor shower. There is air-conditioning and overhead ceiling fans to ward off the summer heat, while underfloor heating and heated towel rails in the bathroom take the edge off a chilly winter’s evening.

The Monwana Residence at last is part of Monwana Lodge and offers an exclusive experience with personal chef, residence butler, plus private game viewing vehicle and dedicated field guide team.

Monwana Lodge is situated in a 13,000 hectare private concession west of the Kruger National Park (Greater Kruger) within the Thornybush Reserve. In 2017 the fence between Thornybush and Timbavati was removed so animals move freely between the two reserves.

The lodge is located approximately 35 minutes from Hoedspruit Airport, which offers direct flights to Johannesburg and Capetown.

With elephant, lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo, giraffe and much, much more, the Greater Kruger Area offers excellent game viewing possibilities. Guests get to discover the area and track animals together with highly qualified guides.
