Singita Sweni
Singita Kruger Game Reserve

Accommodation
Singita Sweni is situated on the banks of Sweni River, a short walking distance from Lebombo. With just six 1-bedroom suites and the secluded Pool Suite, the lodge is very small and intimate and blends perfectly with its riverbank location. Inspired by beetle shells, chameleons, birds’ wings and the surrounding trees, Sweni Lodge’s subtle glamour celebrates gold and bronze ore, gleaming timbers and vibrant pops of colour.

Sitting directly on the riverbank, the stilted suites peek out from behind shade-giving trees. Each of the glass-fronted rooms features a cosy bedroom, lounge, en-suite bathroom and sliding doors leading to a verandah with lounge chairs and a daybed that can also be used to sleep under the stars. The Pool Suite (-> Images of the Pool Suite) comes with its own private pool, secluded location and can be connected to the adjacent suite which allows for a more expansive option and adds an extra layer of privacy that’s perfect for families.

Sweni also boasts a swimming pool, lounge, bar, interactive kitchen and an interesting wine cellar, the contents of which are included in the price. The in-house sommelier is happy to find the perfect wine to match your menu. Sweni is a truly fantastic accommodation option and a trip to this side of the Kruger is highly recommended.

Your alternative in Singita Kruger: Singita Lebombo

Location
The lodge is situated in the private N'wanetsi Concession within the Singita Kruger Game Reserve on the eastern boundary of the Kruger National Park at the border with Mozambique and far away from any other lodge in the Kruger area.

Lebombo and Sweni sit within walking distance of each other at the point where the N'wanetsi and Sweni rivers meet. The craggy Lebombo Mountains and the river landscape offer a spectacular backdrop to game drives. The region is also home to many indigenous plants, including the bizarre Lebombo euphorbia.

Access is by air from Johannesburg or one of the Sabi lodges to the nearest Kruger airstrip, followed by a 30-minute transfer to either of the two lodges.

Wildlife
In addition to several large prides of lion, the area is also home to elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino. Other animals include cheetah, hyena, giraffe, zebra, hippo, wildebeest, crocodile and various species of antelope.

Activities
Daily morning and afternoon game drives, guided bush walks (for guests 16 and older), stargazing, swimming and board games. Situated between Sweni & Lembobo is the Singita Village that offers a boutique, gallery and a wellness & fitness centre.
