Mhondoro Safari Lodge & Villa is arguably the most luxurious accommodation in the Welgevonden Game Reserve, offering a stylish lodge with five different suites and a three-bedroom private villa. Three of the suites are designed for couples (deluxe & honeymoon) and two suites are suitable for families of up to four (executive & family).

The villa itself can accommodate six guests in three separate en-suite bedrooms and allows ten guests for dinner, should you wish to invite other lodge guests or friends to your private villa. The villa comes with private staff, but the main lodge is of course also available to the villa guests. There is a heated swimming pool and a gym both at the main lodge and at the villa.

Mhondoro Safari Lodge & Villa is located in the Welgevonden Game Reserve, a malaria-free reserve north of Johannesburg, which can be reached in about three hours by vehicle or an hour‘s flight by private charter.

The Welgevonden is part of the UNESCO Waterberg Biosphere Reserve and covers approximately 40,000 hectares of land. On the western side of the Welgevonden Game Reserve is the Marakele National Park.

Welgevonden Game Reserve is home of the Big Five - elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and rhino. Rare animals such as the brown hyena, pangolin, aardwolf and aardvark can sometimes also be found.

Game drives & bushwalks are the main activities, in addition you may choose to enjoy some winetasting or a massages in the lodge spa.

A 65m long tunnel leads from the lodge to the well-positioned hiding place at the waterhole, providing excellent opportunities to observe and photograph the thirsty animals from a close but safe distance.

Self-drivers are not allowed in Welgevonden Game Reserve. The lodge guides are well organized and there is a strict sighings control which ensures high-quality safaris.

The area is free of malaria.
