La Pirogue Resort is ideal for active guests who enjoy a lively atmosphere. In addition, children under twelve years of age live and eat free of charge, which makes this resort all the more attractive for families. The 248 thatched bungalows are spread around the extensive coconut palm garden and have a seating area with chairs, air conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities. The gable roofs of the bungalows are reminiscent of the sails of the local fishing boats from which the resort takes its name. The interior could be described as mauritian-bohemian. The family bungalows are two rooms right next to each other under one roof, each with its own bathroom. La Pirogue offers a choice of six restaurants and bars, and light menus and snacks can also be ordered in the bars. The management is extremely dedicated and entertainment is offered in the evenings and also during the day (e.g. bingo).
Location
La Pirogue is located on the long, sandy beach of Flic en Flac, on the west coast of Mauritius next to its sister hotel Sugar Beach. About an hour‘s drive from the International airport.
Activities
Free activities include glass bottom boat rides, snorkeling, windsurfing and six floodlit tennis courts. Scuba-diving (PADI courses), big-game fishing, waterskiing, parasailing, giant-catamaran outings and dolphin excursions come with an extra supplement. Hotel guests receive privileged access to Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club. Nestled among the tropical gardens between La Pirogue and Sugar Beach, Cinq Mondes Spa offers an ideal combination of treatments. Kids from 2 to 11 find entertainment at Sun Kids Club; numerous fun activities, as well as special menus, buffets and barbecues specifically prepared for the kids twelve hours a day. Professionally trained nannies are available on request for toddlers (2 to 3). Teens club offers an array of sports activities, excursions and special evenings for teenager (12 to 17).
