Khwai Tented Camp was built at a very romantic spot under high trees on the banks of a lagoon flowing into the Khwai river. The camp consists of six en suite tents all dotted along the lagoon for the utmost privacy. The camp preserves the romance of yester-year, a simpler life in harmony with nature.

Khwai Bush Camp is Khwai Tented Camp's sister camp.The lodge is nestled amongst a forest of sycamore figs and leadwood trees on the banks of the Khwai River. The Bush Camp consists of four standard and two-family chalets and is particularly tailored towards welcoming families. There is no age restriction at Khwai Bush Camp.

The camps are located in the Khwai Community Concession, one of the most diverse areas in northern Botswana, which seldom disappoints when it comes to producing extraordinary wildlife experiences. The Khwai Community Concession lies in the north-eastern corner of the Okavango Delta adjoining the Moremi Game Reserve. Moremi Game Reserve can be reached in only a few minutes drive, allowing the camp to explore more than just the NG19 concession.

The Khwai Concession NG19 is not a private concession. For this reason you may find more vehicles on a sighting than in our private concessions. This is reflected in a considerably lower price.

It is a thirty minutes flight from Maun or 60 minutes from Kasane. The transfer from the bush airstirp to the camp takes approximately another 60 minutes.

The life source for this area is the Khwai River - the northernmost "finger" of the Okavango Delta alluvial fan. It supports large animals such as hippo and crocodile with buffalo and red lechwe often seen grazing along the fringe. The area is a mix of woodland, floodplains, swamps and grassland, making it a paradise for zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, elephant, leopard, lion, baboon. Even wild dog and cheetah can be found in the area.

Game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, mokoro rides (water permitting), visits to the local Khwai community.
