Ras Kutani Tanzania Coast

Ras Kutani offers nine bungalows with en-suite bathrooms and large verandas with lagoon or sea views. The interiors are simple, traditional and tastefully furnished.

Four suites with private plunge pool and sea views are located further up on the hill. The sandy pathways that lead to the suites could be a bit strenuous for some guests.

The main area compromises the reception, the bar and the restaurant. The food is usually excellent. A small path leads down to the beach where sun loungers will be available. The activity center offers snorkelling gear, sea kajaks and other sports equipment.

A swimming pool can be found at the main building. The loung area nearby offers Wifi reception and a small library.

Ras Kutani is situated on a secluded beach some 35 km south of Dar-Es-Salam and presents a great option for those not wanting to visit an island. A freshwater lagoon and tropical forests caressing the surrounding hills round off the supremely beautiful scenery. Colobus monkey can be spotted near the lagoon.

Ras Kutani Airstrip is a 10-minute flight from Dar-Es-Salam or a 1.5-hour drive. The traffic in Dar-Es-Salam can be a bit chaotic at times and is an experience in itself. The last stretch off road is a sandy path that leads down to the beach.

Ras Kutani is a place to relax and unwind. Diving is not on offer. Guests looking for an excursion can take a guided walk in the forest or to a neighbouring village. Snorkelling and kayaking are further activities on offer – or why not visit the spa.
