Tubu Tree Camp is a classic safari camp. It comprises eight tents raised on stilts with unrivalled vistas over a broad floodplain. The sympathetically and stylishly furnished rooms are constructed beneath shade-giving trees. All rooms have en-suite facilities, outdoor shower, and a delightful deck to relax and read on. The rooms are connected to the main area via raised walkways.
The main building consists of a lounge, dining tent and an outdoor bar tucked under a beautiful marula tree. Guests usually meet here after game drives for pre-dinner drinks. Below is a plunge pool with loungers and a boma for an adventurous ‘dinner under the stars’.
Tubu Tree Camp is situated in the western Okavango Delta on a large peninsula (Hunda Island) that ensures great year-round game drives. The plain in front of the camp fills with water during the floods, turning into a lagoon brimming with antelope and birdlife from April until September.
The region is one of the most beautiful and diverse in the whole Okavango Delta, and the romantic palm islands create a real Caribbean feeling.
Tubu Tree Camp is only accessible by light aircraft. Hunda Airstrip is located approximately 15 minutes from the camp. Flight time to Maun in a Cessna Caravan is 35 minutes, and 1 hour 20 minutes to Kasane.
Hunda Island is home to a wide variety of wildlife; almost anything can be found here, although the bird life is particularly impressive. Elephant, buffalo, hippo and crocodile may be encountered. There are also lots of zebra, wildebeest, kudu and red lechwe (during floods), followed by lion, leopard, hyena and sometimes even cheetah.
Tubu Tree Camp has an impressive concentration of leopard and the chances of seeing this shy cat here are excellent.
Game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, night drives, fishing (catch & release). Boat and mokoro trips are available during the flood season. Mokoro trips begin directly in front of the camp when waters are high.
Because the camp is located in a private concession, night driving with a searchlight and off-road driving for special animal observation is allowed. Close-up shots are guaranteed.

An observation deck is located about 20 minutes outside of the camp, close to a small lagoon. The adventurous may spend a night here armed with a mosquito net.
